Story

We as Kenya are blessed. We are not as divided and Hopeless as our politics or News suggest...

The name “NIMEBARIKIWA” is inspired by the second line of the first stanza of the National Anthem (ilete Baraka kwetu) that calls upon God to bless Kenya. The translation of the name Nimebarikiwa Kuwa Mkenya is a statement in which the ATTITUDE of GRATITUDE abounds. The entire spirit of the initiative is based on the collective ideals in the National Anthem, asking Kenyans to arise and actively participate in nation building, doing so with grateful hearts. In this attitude, it is possible to carry out our national agenda in peaceful co-existence.

Lyrics

Nimebarikiwa Kuwa Mkenya

Verse 1

(chorus)

Uzalendo wangu kwako Kenya, tegemeo letu sote

Twafaidika kwa mapato, ya raslimali na viwanda

Kwa uzalendo tumejitoa, kutetea nchi yetu

Nakushukuru Mungu Baba, ‘mebarikiwa kuwa Mkenya

Verse 2

Tumehifadhi tamaduni, desturi zetu za thamani

Vijana wetu wafundishwa, kujikimu kimaisha

Mbuga zetu za wanyama, z,asifika duniani

Mazingira yetu safi, arthi yetu yapendeza

(rep chorus)

(Bridge)

Tumejitoa kuinua, wasojiweza kati yetu

Na kiwango cha maisha, chazidi kuwa bora

Kwa lazima tumepinga, ufisadi ukabila

Na kiwango cha uchumi, chazidi kuwa bora…..

(Modulate to chorus)
